The founder

Meet Ashish Tagra.

Designer. Innovator. Brand builder.

2001 / A computer, no internet

Windows 3.1. No internet. Big ideas.

Ashish Tagra started designing in 2001, on a school computer running Windows 3.1, years before the internet reached him. He learned the way he still works: by taking things apart to see why they look right.

Part-time work at his father's design agency turned that curiosity into a trade. Design, code and photography were never separate subjects to him. They were one way of making an idea visible.

2003 / If it is a good idea, build it

In 2003 he built his school's first website by hand, in HTML and CSS, and won an award for it. Then came lovekafunda, a dating site he launched before Orkut, Facebook or Instagram existed. The habit stuck: if an idea is good, build it.

2009 / The studio

Through college he worked inside leading design houses and advertising agencies, on retail, luxury and FMCG brands, learning strategy, layout and communication from the people who did them best. In 2009 he founded his own firm. More than 15 years on, the brief has not changed: make a good brand look as valuable as it is.

Today / One team, start to finish

Today Ashish leads the team behind this studio and A Good Life, our company and production house, which takes a campaign from the first idea to the finished film and photograph. We also build our own products the way our clients do, with our own money and our own deadlines: Open Slot, Open Notes, Sorted and the A Good Life furniture label.

“An artist knows no bounds.”

Production gets cheaper every month, and our AI team handles the volume. Taste and judgment stay human, and they stay with us. We would like to hear where your brand is headed.
